Local Opportunities at New Stadium Development

Thame Football Partnership (TFP) will be holding an open evening on Thursday 11th February at Thame Town Hall, starting at 7.30pm to invite local businesses and companies wishing to tender for work on the new community complex at Church Farm to meet with the main contractors Buckingham Group who have been appointed by TFP to build the facility.

Buckingham Group have much experience in stadia construction having recently completed the build of the MK Dons Stadium and about to commence building Brighton’s new £60m stadium. TFP are keen to get as much local involvement in the project as possible and this will allow businesses an opportunity to demonstrate their services.Initial groundwork is expected to start at the 20 acre site in mid February with completion due in the Autumn

Further information on the evening can be obtained by contacting admin@thamefootball.co.uk
Football is coming home for 2010

After four years of intensive planning the Thame Football Partnership (TFP) are pleased to announce that work on the new Community Football facility at Church Farm, on the northern edge of Thame, will commence in the next few weeks, with a planned completion date of Autumn 2010.

The project, which will provide a single venue for Thame Boys, Youth and Girls Football Club and Thame United Football Club, will see the creation of nine football pitches on the 20 acre site, including a floodlit main pitch, pitches of varying size to accommodate the needs of youth football and a floodlit artificial pitch, together with a modern clubhouse providing changing and spectator facilities, bar, function area and conference and community facilities.
Over the last four years TFP have been advised by specialist sports consultants, Sports Solutions GB, and have worked closely with key local delivery partners and funding organisations, including Thame Town Council, South Oxfordshire District Council, Oxfordshire County Council and the Football Foundation, in order to create a financially sustainable facility for the town. Frank Thompson, the TFP Communications Director said, ‘it is great news that we are now in a position to move forward with the largest community investment in Thame for the best part of a decade. As a group of committed volunteers we have worked hard to turn this dream into a reality, but we should not underestimate the contribution that Thame Town Council have made, and will continue to make, in enabling the project to move forward’....

A new home a new name

Thame Football Partnership’s (TFP) recent announcement for the new Community Football facility at Church Farm, has created an opportunity for a new name for the site. TFP will be running a competition to come up with a  name for the new site. Communications Director Frank Thompson stated, “currently the site is known as Church Farm but we want to involve the community in providing us with a new name for the facility. The competition will run until the end of February with one lucky reader winning either an Xbox360 or a round of golf for four people at The Oxfordshire or Magnolia Park Golf Club. The winner will also be invited to be part of the grand opening of the facility on it’s completion in the Autumn. The competition will be free to enter and you can enter as many times as you like.

The winning name will be selected by the TFP Board competition panel in March and the winner announced in the press and on the TFP, Thame United and Thame Boys websites

Entries can be made in a number of ways, by e-mail to admin@thamefootball.co.uk,  by simply downloading  an entry form (PDF) or by post to:

Sponsor a brick campaign
Thame Football Partnership (TFP) are looking for local support for the new site about to commence in Early February. With the main build funds in place the aim is to create additional funding to help the sustainability of the complex, providing a first class community facility for the future. To help achieve this aim TFP will be creating a Wall of Fame around the entrance area where single bricks can be sponsored
Wall of Fame Sponsor
Frank Thompson commented, “We are looking for a local business or company to sponsor the name of this wall at the facility, and their company name or logo will be displayed on a plaque on the wall with their message demonstrating support for the club and the community facility. Then we would look for individuals to buy a brick/s in the wall”
Buy a Brick Sponsor
“What we are looking for is for individuals to buy a brick/s, for this they would get their name on the wall of fame, mounted on a plaque on the brick demonstrating support for the club and the community facility.
The cost will be £20 per brick inclusive of the plaque” said Thompson.
We hope that the community supports us as we enter a very crucial but exciting stage of the programme, this community facility has been a long time coming and we want to create an environment for families to be able to come to the venue and relax and enjoy the facilities that will be available
